Dr. Callie Fogle is among the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine’s inaugural faculty members! Fogle is an Equine Surgeon, previously on faculty at North Carolina State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She is passionate about providing state of the art care for horses in a collaborative learning environment and answering relevant clinical questions that serve to advance veterinary care for the horse. She worked previously with Founding Dean, Steven Marks, and respects his commitment to veterinary medicine.

“When my husband and I heard about the college and supportive community that [Dean Marks] intended to build at the PCVM, we knew it was the right move for us,” said Fogle. “I am looking forward to being actively engaged in such a warm and welcoming community, of course!  I am also very excited about supporting the growth of veterinary services as a vital part of the novel and powerful model for veterinary education that Clemson intends to deliver.”

Dr. Fogle’s professional interests center on delivering advanced, state-of-the-art care for horses within a collaborative learning environment. Her research focuses on addressing clinical questions related to gastrointestinal and soft tissue diseases, with the goal of advancing the field of equine veterinary medicine.

“I can’t wait to be a part of a veterinary clinical environment that is both learner-centered and simultaneously provides necessary animal health care to the communities in Clemson and throughout South Carolina. Additionally, I want to spread the good news about the PCVM and its educational impact throughout the state. I love to get out into communities and meet people, making new connections and hopefully being an ambassador for Clemson University around the state!”

In her free time, she enjoys extremely competitive games with her family and cheering her teens on at music and athletic events.

“I grew up on a farm in Louisiana, and I love all things farm-related! The animals, the food (yes, I like it spicy!) and the people.  My daughter and I do share a love of horseback riding, and I squeeze in some running and reading time for myself.”
