Libby Freesh, BA, CVPM, brings more than 20 years of experience in operational excellence across both general and specialty veterinary practice environments to Clemson University’s Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine. Freesh joins the team as inventory manager!
Freesh joins the college with a strong background in both general and specialty veterinary environments, where she has built a reputation for operational excellence, financial stewardship and strategic leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado Springs and is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Her expertise includes clinical operations, business analysis and technology-driven workflow optimization. These are skills that will support the college’s mission to build a modern, efficient veterinary program.
“This was a unique opportunity to help build a program from the ground up and make a real impact on the future of veterinary medicine,” Freesh said. “It also allowed me to move closer to family in the area.”
In her new role, Freesh will play a critical part in establishing and scaling inventory systems for a growing academic veterinary program. She sees the work as foundational to both education and patient care.
“Inventory management in veterinary medicine isn’t just logistics, it’s a control point for quality, safety and cost,” she said. “If I’m doing my job well, it allows clinicians and students to focus on learning and care, while also modeling best practices in cost awareness, drug handling and regulatory compliance.”
Freesh is particularly energized by the challenge of building processes without historical data and adapting them as the college grows.
“I’m excited by the opportunity to develop systems from the ground up and scale them as new cohorts join the program,” she said. “Celebrating each milestone alongside the team will be especially meaningful.”

Beyond her professional work, Freesh is the mother of two adult children and shares her home with two cats she adopted during her time in veterinary practice. An accomplished athlete, she is also a dragon boat paddler with Team USA and spends time training on Lake Hartwell, where she hopes to eventually help establish a local team.
As the PCVM continues to grow, Freesh’s experience and vision will help lay the groundwork for efficient, sustainable operations that support both students and clinicians.
