Department of Management professors Aleda Roth (supply chain management/organizational research methods), Phil Roth (organizational behavior/human resource management) and Zeki Simsek (strategic management) were among the top 100 most prolific authors based on the frequency their research was cited in well-recognized journals, periodicals and textbooks.

Herman Aguinis, a professor of management at George Washington University, led a team of researchers that measured authors’ scholarly impact in management education. The study analyzed author/researchers most frequently cited in journals, periodicals and books to determine the most influential management academicians in the transfer of knowledge to students.

“Year in and year out, our faculty are among the most prolific and influential authors in their respective areas of business management,” said Sri Sridharan, Department of Management chair. “This recognition reflects the quality of scholarship and stature these three faculty bring to the classroom and their areas of research.”

Aleda Roth is also ranked No. 2 in top SC/OM publications (Mgt. Sci., MSOM, JOM, and POM) during 2000-2015. She is a distinguished fellow of Decision Sciences Institute, the Production and Operations Management Society and Manufacturing and Service Operations.

Phil Roth’s research expertise is in organizational staffing, meta-analysis and the impact of social media on organizations. He teaches courses in organizational behavior and human resource management and is a fellow of the Society for Organizational Psychology.

Since obtaining his Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Connecticut, Simsek has also been ranked as one of the top most influential authors globally in entrepreneurship research in the 21st century, as a result of his research output in top-tier management journals from 2000 to 2015.
