Craig Wallace, Ph.D., chair of management and search committee member, conveyed his thoughts regarding the appointment: “I am thankful for the hard work and dedication that the search committee put into this search to identify three excellent finalists. We had a very tight window to perform this search and are thrilled about the appointment of Jennifer Siemens to the role.”

With a B.A. in Psychology, an MBA and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Arkansas, Siemens came to Clemson in 2011 as an assistant professor in marketing. She has been an associate professor since 2016 and chair of the Department of Marketing since 2019. As a member of the 2018 President’s Leadership Institute cohort, her experience helped develop skills essential in her role as department chair and now associate dean.

Jennifer’s proven leadership of faculty and her dedication to creating opportunities for their growth and advancement make her a perfect fit for this position. In the role of AD for Faculty Excellence, her passion for faculty support will enable her to be a resource for our entire college.

As associate dean for faculty excellence, Siemens will be responsible for strategic initiatives, planning and coordinating the implementation of the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business strategic plan, and providing leadership for the advancement of research and faculty excellence while also implementing and executing the College’s strategic vision, advancing interdisciplinary research, growing external research funding and promoting faculty excellence.

Siemens says, “I have spent the past four years leading the Department of Marketing through the Covid pandemic and explosive growth in both majors and the number of faculty. During that appointment, I learned a lot about the necessary ingredients for a happy and productive department, including the importance of empowering those around me to find and nurture their paths to excellence. I am most excited about shining a light on the faculty excellence already occurring within the College, as well as facilitating new opportunities for them to succeed. I look forward to the challenges of this new associate dean position and am excited for the bright future ahead of us.”
