GSG distributes masks to grad students; seeks more

When the Graduate Student Government (GSG) wanted to support the University’s commitment to fair, safe and flexible COVID policies, they wanted to do more than just say so. They wanted to make their own positive contribution.

That contribution has taken the form of more than 700 reusable masks, which is enough for about 13% of the graduate student population. Donations were secured from local businesses that wish to remain anonymous.

“We chose reusable masks because they are sustainable, both economically and environmentally,” said Sara Lalk, the director of GSG’s Health and Human Services Committee.

GSG has sent the original donation of masks to the seven colleges, who determined the best way to get them in the hands of their graduate students.
Individuals or groups who would like to donate masks or fund a purchase can contact Sara Lalk at slalk@g.clemson.edu to make arrangements. GSG requests that donated masks be reusable, two or more layers and unvented; filter pocket preferred.
