Graduate Student Government, University Facilities to host campus tree planting event on February 17

Clemson University Graduate Student Government and University Facilities invite students, faculty and staff to plant trees along Highway 93 near the intersection of Newman Road on Friday, February 17, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants can help as they are able—plant for an hour or stay the whole day. Parking will be available at 304 Newman Rd.

Weather appropriate clothing and footwear are recommended as planting areas will be muddy. All equipment will be provided and Landscape Services will be present to guide plantings. Trees to be planted include:

  • Sourwood
  • White Oak
  • Chestnut Oak
  • American Beech
  • Red Maple
  • Loblolly Pine
  • Virginia Pine

Lunch will be available for graduate students from 12-1 p.m. courtesy of Graduate Student Government. RSVPs for lunch are encouraged.

This tree planting is in addition to all planned Landscape Installation Designs for current University construction projects. Previous similar landscaping projects included sites near the Watt Family Innovation Center, Earle Hall and Lot-E21
