Clemson University Police Department (CUPD) is doing its part to help the environment and the local community. On Saturday, April 24, CUPD will participate in National Drug Take Back Day for the University and community for anyone looking to properly dispose of prescription drugs. National Drug Take Back Day is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

CUPD will have a drop-off location for unused prescription drugs at the department’s substation located in the Hub at Douthit Hills — adjacent to the University bookstore — from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Drug take back is anonymous and no questions are asked.

Unused prescription drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved and abused or illegally sold. Unused drugs that are flushed contaminate the water supply. When properly disposed, the return of unused prescription drugs save lives and help protect the environment.
