The College of Education will be joining educators across the nation in celebrating American Education Week November 12-16.
Sponsored by the National Education Association, the week celebrates public education and honors individuals who are working to ensure that every child receives a quality education.
The College of Education will mark the week with a social media celebration that features video vignettes of students, alumni and others describing the impact of teachers on their lives. The college is encouraging Clemson alumni and everyone to celebrate by remembering the educators who made a difference to them.
“Quality education and ‘Best in Class’ teachers are key to the success and well-being of individuals – and entire communities,” said College of Education Founding Dean George J. Petersen. “We are honored to participate in American Education Week and celebrate those who give of themselves as educators every day.”
The college’s observance of American Education Week is part of its continual effort to honor educators. The college recently joined the College Football Playoff Foundation, Clemson Athletics and South Carolina Future Minds in honoring award-winning educators before the kickoff of the Clemson-Syracuse football game, and it will participate in the annual Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring.
