After more than three decades of service to Clemson University, Regina Carroll, director of business relations in the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences (CBSHS), will retire at the end of January. Her successor, Stefan Bock, has been appointed director of financial strategic operations for the College.
Over the course of her career, Carroll served in numerous roles across the University before joining the former College of Health, Education and Human Development as chief business officer in 2009. She has supported CBSHS through two reorganizations since her appointment as director of business relations in 2014.
As director of financial strategic operations, Bock will serve as the College’s strategic financial advisor and lead its transition to revenue-based budgeting (RBB), an incentive-based model designed to ensure transparency, streamline college-level decision-making and align budgets with accountability and responsibility.
Bock ’10 has worked in various financial roles in CBSHS since 2018. He has served as business officer for the College since 2021. He was a member of the RBB Steering Committee and is currently the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Campus User Group lead.
“Regina has been an invaluable member of the CBSHS leadership team during her tenure as director of business relations. Her care and attention for each of our departments is second to none, and her guidance and expertise have set us up for success in the new budget model,” said Leslie Hossfeld, CBSHS dean. “Additionally, I am delighted Stefan has joined us in this new leadership role. During his time as business officer, Stefan actively participated in planning and preparation for RBB, and CBSHS will continue to benefit from his expertise and strategic insight moving forward.”
The College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences (CBSHS) was established in July 2016. CBSHS is a 21st-century, land-grant college that combines work in nine disciplines – communication; nursing; parks, recreation and tourism management; political science; psychology; public health sciences; sociology, anthropology and criminal justice – to further its mission of “building people and communities” in South Carolina and beyond.
