CLEMSON, South Carolina – The Clemson Young Alumni Council has recognized Ryan D. Lee of Roanoke with the Roaring10 award.
Each year, the Clemson Young Alumni Council names 10 alumni to its “Roaring10,” recognizing outstanding young alumni for their influence in business, leadership, community, education and philanthropic endeavors. The honor is given to individuals who exemplify Clemson University’s core values of honesty, integrity and respect and who have graduated from Clemson within the last 10 years.
Lee graduated from Clemson University in 2009 with a degree in accounting. In 2012, he completed his master’s degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Lee is the chief operating officer of LewisGale Medical Center, a 506-bed hospital in Salem, Virginia. LewisGale Medical Center is a part of the HCA Healthcare system, a Fortune-100, for-profit operator of health care facilities.
Since graduating from Clemson, Lee has received the Fellow designation from the American College of Healthcare Executives. Lee services on the board of directors of the Salem Chamber of Commerce.
In service to Clemson, Lee recently completed a three-year term as president of the Young Alumni Council and previously chaired the Roaring10 selection committee.
The 2019 Roaring10 class was honored by the Clemson Alumni Association and the Clemson Young Alumni Council at a ceremony on Oct. 11 at the Madren Conference Center on Clemson’s campus.
The Roaring10 award program was developed in 2012 by the Clemson Young Alumni Council. The primary mission of Clemson Young Alumni Council is to support the goals of the Clemson Alumni Association specifically on matters pertaining to young alumni. Clemson Young Alumni Council exists to connect young alumni with the university, assist young alumni in the transition from active student to alumnus and to facilitate fellowship, personal growth and professional development opportunities for young alumni and formally represent young alumni interests to the Clemson Alumni Council. The purpose of these efforts is to affect seminal influence on young alumni so they may continue to be connected and contributing alumni for a better Clemson throughout their lives.
