CLEMSON — Clemson University students, faculty and staff will be able to add their TigerOne ID cards to Apple Wallet and use their iPhone and Apple Watch to access buildings on campus, purchase meals and much more starting this fall.

“This powerful technology gives students, faculty and staff a more secure and convenient way to use their university IDs,” said Russell M. Kaurloto, vice president for Information Technology and chief information officer for Clemson University. “We are proud to be a pacesetter among the nation’s universities by offering this innovative technology.”

“Students are often the first adopters of new technologies,” said Almeda R. Jacks, Clemson University vice president for Student Affairs. “Our new TigerOne ID on iPhone and Apple Watch allows them to use the devices they have with them every day. It’s just one more way we are enhancing the Clemson experience for students.”

Clemson University will be the first school to use their university app, my.Clemson, to add student IDs to Apple Wallet, eliminating the need to download a separate app.

Members of the Clemson University community can now leave their physical wallets behind and get around campus with just their Apple devices. By simply placing their iPhone and Apple Watch near a reader where physical student IDs are accepted, they can enter residence halls, academic areas, libraries and fitness centers; use their meal plan; make purchases at the university bookstore; print documents; and more.

Students can also use their TigerOne ID on Apple devices at nearby off-campus locations where TigerStripe is accepted.

The TigerOne ID in Apple Wallet is not only convenient, it also provides an extra level of security as students no longer have to worry about misplacing their physical card. Your school credentials are also protected by two-factor authentication.

The TigerOne ID in Apple Wallet works with iPhone 6S and later and Apple Watch Series 1 and later. For more information visit clemson.edu/tigerone. If you need help setting up your Apple Student ID, please visit the TigerOne Card Office in the Hendrix Student Center.
