Following a national search, Rock McCaskill has been named Clemson University’s registrar, a position he’s held as interim since January 2024.
In his new role, McCaskill will lead the records and registration unit in the Division of Enrollment Management, focusing on the effective management of academic records, registration services and degree awarding functions, and collaborating with academic and administrative units to support the strategic goals of the University, enhance student success and optimize registration and records processes for a seamless student experience.
“Rock has clearly emerged as uniquely well-prepared to help lead us and Clemson through the important work of the Registrar’s Office. As Rock shared throughout the process, it will be important to serve our students with excellence, to be exceptional colleagues with our University partners, and to strengthen our relationships and work,” said David Kuskowski, associate vice president of enrollment management.
McCaskill has been Clemson’s associate registrar since 2016. He has over thirty years of experience in higher education administration, including a combined fifteen years as the university registrar at Southern Wesleyan University and Armstrong State University.
McCaskill continues to be an engaged leader in the enrollment management profession. He recently completed a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. He also serves as a peer evaluator for The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
McCaskill holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Public Administration degree from Clemson. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership through Anderson University.
