Clemson University is offering RealResponse – an anonymous texting platform used to report misconduct and integrity issues –  to all University students, faculty, and staff, making Clemson the first university to offer RealResponse to its entire campus population. The platform provides campus leaders with a powerful new tool to detect and respond to urgent concerns. The Clemson Athletics Department became one of the first in the nation to utilize RealResponse in 2016.

Students, faculty and staff can now send anonymous text tips, including photos and videos to 864-898-6993.

“Encouraging and implementing safe environments for everyone at Clemson is an utmost priority for us, and this platform helps Clemson support those endeavors,” said Tracy Arwood, chief ethics and compliance officer and associate vice president. “The addition of RealResponse to Clemson’s existing reporting channels provide yet another option to encourage the reporting of misconduct by ensuring that people have a variety of pathways to make a report.”

RealResponse is a real-time reporting system, allowing the University to receive and address issues communicated via text messaging – a medium people already frequently use and trust. The platform will enable officials to respond and engage with the texter while allowing the individual to remain anonymous at their discretion. Activity on the platform is monitored by Clemson’s Office of Internal Auditing and the Office of University Compliance and Ethics.

Since 2016, more than 100 collegiate athletic departments and professional and amateur sports franchises and organizations have partnered with RealResponse including the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL Players Association, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, the National Women’s Soccer League and several member clubs, and a growing number of governing bodies, including USA Track and Field and USA Gymnastics.

In 2021, the Charlotte Business Journal recognized RealResponse as one of the “Fifty Most Innovative Companies in the Region.”
