Bring your sensitive items to shred free of charge on Wednesday, October 9

Share:

Clemson University’s Office of Information Security and Privacy will sponsor a Document Shred Event on Wednesday, October 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Shredding services will be available at 118 Ravenel Center Place (in the side parking lot). The event will be free and open to the public.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and your personal information is like money. Value it. Protect it. When you no longer need it, shred it! Shredding materials containing personal information can help to combat identity theft.

You will be able to destroy sensitive items such as personal documents, transcripts, and receipts. Those who want to rid themselves of university- or personally-owned hard drives can do so any time of the year at the University Surplus on Perimeter Road. The facility offers a Department of Defense-approved hard drive crusher on site to physically destroy the hard drive.
