Amir Poursaee of Clemson University was selected for the Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers in recognition of his scientific work.
The fellowship will allow him to carry out one year of research with the corrosion group at the Max-Planck Institute for Iron Research in Dusseldorf, Germany, where his host will be Michael Rohwerder. The institute is one of Europe’s best research centers focusing on metals.
Poursaee is an associate professor of civil engineering, and materials science and engineering. His field of research is production and properties of functional materials and corrosion.
The fellowship was made possible by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which promotes academic cooperation between excellent scientists and scholars.
Poursaee’s fellowship is set to begin in July.
