The Erwin Center for Brand Communications interns are working with Pamarco, a leader in flexographic anilox printing, on an interdisciplinary creative packaging project from ideation to production that will have them collaborating with their peers in Graphic Communications.
Since 1946, Pamarco has positioned itself as the world’s most successful flexographic anilox supplier in its industry. From offering the most extensive portfolio of products on the market, to delivering an overall superior customer service, Pamarco has built meaningful relationships with converters and OEM suppliers world-wide.
“Experiential learning opportunities like this are a hallmark of the Erwin Center’s approach to providing students with hands-on brand projects,” said Katie Hildebrand, executive director of The Erwin Center. “Students on this interdisciplinary project will learn by executing from start to finish.”
Erwin Center students Macale Fusco, Sandy Hall, Becca Pulsifer, Caroline Schoenberger and Caroline Trembly are diving into the print industry as they design a customer appreciation package for a Pamarco promotion that will go live in late 2020. The team of students will design this branded packaging concept and have free rein on the theme, messaging and design. The interns come from a blend of majors in Clemson’s College of Business, but each plays a unique role in the overall project to simulate an interdisciplinary approach.
The Erwin Center interns are currently working through the concept phase, which they will present to Kara Wojnowski, Pamarco’s marketing coordinator, this spring. Graphic Communications Department students will play a key role in the implementation and production process where students will test and produce the packaging designs for execution.
By applying their branding education to packaging design, these students are able to manage a project from brand strategy to concept ideation. The Erwin Center for Brand Communications is excited to continue this partnership to help showcase Pamarco’s brand story through packaging design.
More details about the project will be announced later this year as project phases progress.
