Marketing and Communications

Dear Clemson Faculty, Staff and Students,

I hope your holiday season brought time to recharge and connect with those who matter most. As we begin a new year, I want to express my gratitude for all you do to make Clemson a place of excellence, innovation and care. Your dedication and spirit are what make this community so special.

Recently, there have been questions about Clemson’s involvement in the proposed Newry Development in Oconee County. I want to share information with you directly so we can move forward with clarity and strengthen confidence in our work together.

We recently responded to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from Oconee County Council and included a detailed letter outlining our role. I encourage you to visit this site where we have publicly shared this letter and other materials relating to our involvement in this project.

As we look ahead, the most important work before us is selecting Clemson’s next president – a decision that will shape the future of our University for years to come. This process requires our full attention and collaboration. Our priority now is ensuring a thoughtful presidential search that reflects the values and aspirations of our entire campus community. Details on listening sessions will be shared in the coming weeks.

Thank you for the energy and commitment you bring to Clemson’s land-grant mission every day. It’s your passion and dedication – our faculty, staff and students – that makes this University extraordinary. We deeply value your partnership and remain committed to openness and shared purpose as we move forward together.

Sincerely,

Kim A. Wilkerson signature
