Clemson University Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) has announced the addition of several adventure trips for students during the Fall 2022 semester. Over the course of the Fall semester, students can take advantage of hiking, backpacking, kayaking, rafting, mountain biking and similar opportunities. Additionally, limited space is available for a Fall Break backpacking trip in the Virginia highlands.

“CORE adventure trips have always been a unique part of what we offer in Campus Recreation,” said Robert Taylor, director of programs and assessment. “Our new space at Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center (Andy’s) has been well-received by students. It’s led to initial engagement with outdoor recreation, and we couldn’t be more excited to build on that through our trips this fall.”

“Our trips are a time for students to disconnect from technology and connect with one another while exploring beautiful places around the Carolinas,” added Taylor Williams, assistant director for outdoor recreation.

All CORE trips include any necessary outdoor equipment for the activity, as well as transportation from the Andy’s office to and from the trip location. Participants are asked to bring personal items, such as appropriate clothing and footwear. Detailed packing lists are provided prior to the start of each trip. Food is provided on overnight trips. Students interested in learning more information should call the CORE office at 864-656-0892 or email outside@clemson.edu.
