Clemson’s Delta Sigma Pi chapter is three-time award winner

A business fraternity in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business has received three awards from the national Delta Sigma Pi fraternity.

Delta Sigma Pi’s Kappa Tau Chapter from Clemson University is the recipient of the regional Outstanding Financial Operations Award, the regional Outstanding Service Award and the regional R. Nelson Mitchell Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Award.

“I’m extremely proud of the hard-working and achievement-oriented students who are responsible for these awards. To win three regional honors is a testament to the students’ commitment to excellence,” said Hope Parnell, chapter advisor and Department of Management lecturer. “It is my hope that their experience through this organization will help propel them in whatever path they choose after leaving Clemson.”

The regional R. Nelson Mitchell Outstanding Collegiate Chapter Award is presented a chapter for its actions and activities and how it best promotes the aims and ideals stated in the Purpose of the Fraternity.

Outstanding Service recognition is given to a chapter that plans and implements the most effective and program of service to others.

Chapters receiving Outstanding Financial Operations recognition have shown excellence in planning and implementing the most effective and comprehensive program of fundraising and financial management.

Kappa Tau Chapter leadership team members include, Amanda Billings, president; Sean Larkin, senior vice president; Olivia Moran, vice president, pledge education; Alison Zarella, vice president, finance; Mary Cate Buchert, vice president, chapter operations; Zoe Iorio, chancellor; Jack Lillig,  vice president, professional activities; Ryan Selquist, vice president, community service; Juan Munoz, vice president, alumni relations; Johanna Stevenson, director, financial development; Jacob Sargent, director, ethics and compliance; Jade Tapscott, director, faculty relations; Madison Powell, director, public relations; Tripp Tucker, director, IT; Ethan Kopfman, social chair; Caleb Hannon, intramural chair; Peggy Williamson, vice president, scholarships and awards.

To be recognized for an award, the chapter must submit an online application. Each application is first reviewed by a group of fraternity volunteers within each region (groups of five to 10 collegiate chapters in a geographic area).

The Kappa Tau chapter of Delta Sigma Pi is composed of about 100 freshman-to-senior members considered to be high-achieving students inside and outside the classroom. One of two business fraternities on campus, Delta Sigma Pi is open to students pursuing a business-related degree.
