At Clemson, learning doesn’t end with graduation. For these Tigers, it’s just the beginning. We recently caught up with four young alumni, who shared how Clemson’s commitment to excellence, collaboration and service continues to shape their journey — and their impact.

I was really lucky to be at Clemson and have a lot of incredible resources and mentors to help me find sense of community. I am thankful for my time at Clemson, because I’ve been able to stay connected with friends I met and students I worked alongside in Student Government.

• Elementary Education (B.A.), Teaching and Learning (M.Ed.)
• Assistant Principal at Cleveland Academy of Leadership in Spartanburg, South Carolina
• Former 5th Grade teacher at Powdersville Elementary
• Clemson involvement snapshot: Orientation Ambassador (team lead); Clemson Undergraduate Student Government; Blue Key Honor Society; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; Call Me MISTER®
I still carry lessons from Clemson with me every day, especially now as a father and husband. Serving different roles at Clemson — whether that was in my fraternity or with Orientation or other activities — all taught me responsibility and that my actions are bigger than me. Those lessons shaped me into who I am today. They’re also lessons I try to pass forward to coworkers, students and my family every day.

• Economics (B.A.)
• Earned a minor in political science through Clemson’s Lyceum program
• Assistant Press Secretary at the White House in Washington, D.C.
• Completed a summer internship in 2022 with FOX News
• Clemson involvement snapshot: Clemson Undergraduate Student Government (Senate President), Turning Point USA (chapter president); Small Business Administration (economics chair); Kappa Kappa Gamma
My experiences at Clemson prepared me for a high-stakes, public position that requires me to juggle a lot of moving parts. As a member of the White House press team, we go through 200+ requests from news media each day, meet deadlines for requested comment and pitch exclusive stories. Additionally, serving as president of the Senate let me know what I was capable of from a leadership standpoint.

• Sociology (B.S.)
• Pursuing master’s degree from Clemson in public administration
• Bureau of Air Quality Fellow at the Department of Environmental Protection in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
• Clemson involvement snapshot: Orientation Ambassador; Welcome Week Leader; Clemson Undergraduate Student Government; Kappa Alpha Pi Pre-Law Fraternity (chapter founder); If You’re Reading This (chapter co-president)
My Clemson memories are all centered around involvement and the professional skills I gained from them. I met my best friends through the Orientation Ambassador program and became the best version of myself and extended that into being a Welcome Week leader. Clemson helped me realize the value of my voice and I’m grateful for how it enhanced my personal story and lived experiences.
