UPDATE: The Parade of Rings and Guarding of the Rings events are canceled due to weather.

CLEMSON — Those planning to attend Clemson University’s Ring Ceremony Thursday at Littlejohn Coliseum should avoid Highway 93 and use Perimeter Road instead.

Clemson class of 2019 ringBecause of construction on Highway 93, there is only one westbound lane open from College Avenue to Williamson Road. Visitors should avoid Highway 93 and use Perimeter Road to reach parking areas near Littlejohn.

Those coming from Interstate 85 should head north on U.S. 76 and turn left onto Perimeter Road. From U.S. 123, drivers should get off on the Highway 93 exit toward campus, then turn left onto U.S. 76 to get to Perimeter Road.

The Ring Ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5.

Students and guests should plan to arrive early as security at the entrances to the coliseum may mean it will take a little extra time to find a seat. The university’s clear bag policy will be in effect for the event and there will be walk-through metal detectors at the entrances of the Burton Gallery, the East Gate, the South Gate and the student entrance on the loading dock. Students who are participating in the ceremony are asked to refrain from bringing bags.

Hosted by the Clemson Alumni Association and Student Alumni Council, the Ring Ceremony is one of Clemson’s beloved, time-honored traditions.

Students who have completed 90 credit hours are eligible to receive rings.

More information about the Ring Ceremony, road closure and clear bag policy is posted online at https://alumni.clemson.edu/clemson-ring/.
