Upcoming construction and parking impacts – West End Zone (C-3) parking and Winter Graduation ceremonies

Share:

Starting Monday, November 28, 2022, following the last home football game, fences will start going up to cordon off the entire C-3 parking lot with its 823 parking spots. This is the lot directly across from Jervey Athletic Center in front of Memorial Stadium’s West End Zone. Also known as Lot #5 during athletic events, the lot is largely for commuting students.

New Parking Assigned

Until construction concludes on August 1, 2023, current C-3 (West End Zone) parking lot users are asked to follow these protocols:

  • Commuter students are encouraged to Choose Transit options and if driving to campus are directed to use the remaining assigned commuter parking lots and available optional commuter parking in the East Park-N-Ride P-5, P-7 and P-8 parking lots. Park-N-Ride runs on 9-minute intervals during peak hours. For more information, visit Parking and Transportation Services’ Park-N-Ride site.
  • West Resident students are encouraged to park in newly created West Resident spaces inside the west side of the C-2 parking lot.
  • Employees can park in additional Employee parking being made available on the Avenue of Champions and are permitted to park in orange commuter spaces.

Once Tiger Walk is completed, almost 700 commuters will be able to return to parking in the C-3 parking lot and safety and security items such as added lighting, safe pedestrian walkways and security cameras will have been installed.

Parking for December 2022 Graduation Ceremonies

On Thursday, December 22, three separate Winter 2022 graduation ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum.

In light of the West End Zone parking lot being closed for construction, participants and visitors attending graduation ceremonies will be directed to park in Lot R-3 (see D in map below) or Lot 2 (see 5 in map below). All additional parking options are denoted on the map below.

The Littlejohn North Lot (labeled on map) is reserved for ADA parking (with official pass).

Parking plans may be adjusted in the event of inclement weather.
