Now that summer is in full swing, here are some of the best spots on main campus to find some relief from the rising temperatures.
Do you have a favorite spot where you beat the heat? Email ourclemson@clemson.edu and share where on campus you keep cool!
1) ’55 Exchange

Grab a milkshake, cold brew or a classic world-famous ice cream at ’55 Exchange in Hendrix Student Center. Every step of the process — from formulating flavors to serving scoops — is student-run and Clemson at its core.
2) Under a tree on Bowman

The front lawn of Clemson’s campus, Bowman Field is the perfect place to play Spikeball, spend time outside with friends and family, or just sit and read. When it’s time for a sun break, pop under one of several big trees and enjoy the shade.
3) Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Complex

With beach access to Lake Hartwell, a sand volleyball court, and outdoor equipment like bikes and kayaks to check out at the Andy Quattlebaum Outdoor Education Center, Snow offers students and community members a place to enjoy the water and land while the weather is warm.
4) VR in Watt Family Innovation Center

Check out the Immersive Space for a dip into virtual reality. Contact vrclub@clemson.edu or their faculty advisor Nate Newsome to make a special reservation for a class or event, where you can to explore, design and interact with the limitless possibilities that VR offers.
5) Lucky Duck Bistro

Take a break after golfing, or just stop by for a meal at the Lucky Duck Bistro in the Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center. While you’re there, explore the new facility and its interactive displays, and visit the Pro Shop to browse a wide selection of Tiger gear.
Wherever you decide to beat the heat on campus, be sure to drink plenty of water and take steps to keep yourself safe this summer!
