Previously housed under the Office of Access Compliance and Education, Clemson’s Title IX Coordinator and ADA Services will now be part of a new University division. Max Allen, senior vice president and chief of staff, will coordinate the establishment of the new division, and Katherine Weathers has been named interim Title IX coordinator. Alesia Smith, previously Title IX coordinator, has accepted a new position within the Division of Student Affairs.
All educational institutions receiving federal financial assistance must designate at least one employee to coordinate their efforts to comply with and carry out their responsibilities under Title IX. Title IX coordinators play a critical role in helping a school ensure that every person affected by its operations, including faculty, staff and students, is aware of their legal rights under Title IX and that the school and all of its employees, through its policies, procedures and practices, complies with its legal obligations.
The Title IX office telephone number is 864-656-3181 and the office email is CUTitleIX@clemson.edu.
Pricilla Harrison remains the University’s director of ADA Services and Clemson University’s Accessibility Web Portal is a centralized accessibility resource for Clemson students, employees and visitors.
Clemson remains committed to creating an environment that promotes equal access to information, facilities and activities for everyone, and services previously based in the Office of Access Compliance and Education will continue in this newly created division.
