Text-to-911 is now available on Clemson University’s main campus. While calling is still the best option if you can, anyone can text 911 while on main campus to report an emergency to Clemson University dispatchers.

This vital service makes it easier for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired to communicate with dispatchers, as well as assist those who are in situations where speaking isn’t safe.

To use text-to-911:

  1. Open a new text message.
  2. Enter “911” in the contact field.
  3. Type your emergency details in the message field.
  4. Press send.

A dispatcher will text you back to assist.

Remember, calling or texting 911 is only for emergencies.

Students, faculty and staff can also download the Rave Guardian app and utilize the Text CU Dispatch feature to provide crime tips and message dispatchers anonymously.
