Editor’s note: This is the latest installment in our series of “Student Affairs Talk” podcasts. In it, Communications Director for Student Affairs Philip Sikes visits with various leaders from the staff and student communities. This week’s featured guest is Andrew Levitt, a senior industrial engineering major.

Andrew Levitt has been a Clemson football fan for so long he still fondly remembers the days when as a child he slid down boxes on the grassy hills in the west end zone of Memorial Stadium. Now, he’s about to graduate and has seen the Tigers play in three of the past four national championship games. The Clemson senior is on track to graduate Thursday, May 9 with an industrial engineering degree.

Levitt came to Clemson by way of Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina. He attended Palmetto Boys State, his first taste of involvement in what he calls “servant leadership.” He has taken that mindset with him to the Upstate, where he served this past year as Order of Omega president. Levitt is a member of Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) fraternity and has been involved with Clemson’s bass fishing club as well.

Just a few short weeks ago, he was named Man of the Year for the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the governing body which oversees Clemson’s traditional social fraternities. A year before that, he received the John Robert Clinton Unity Award — given annually in memory of a former ATO brother to a student who best displays his or her desire for Greek unity and caring attitude toward the Clemson community.
