Ready, set, enroll! Insurance Open Enrollment Starts Next Week

Share:

Open Enrollment will kick off next week, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

During Open Enrollment, eligible employees can enroll or make changes to their insurance coverage for the following year. Changes made during open enrollment take effect January 1, 2025. If changes are not made by the deadline, employees cannot make changes until the next open enrollment period unless they have a qualifying life event during the year.

Employees satisfied with their current elections, as reflected in PEBA MyBenefits, do not need to take any steps to continue their coverage in 2024 unless they wish to re-enroll in Money Plus flexible spending accounts. MoneyPlus participants must re-enroll each year to continue coverage.

2024 Highlights

Health Insurance Premiums for active employees and funded retiree health insurance premiums will not increase in 2025.

Supplemental Long-Term Disability (SLTD) premium factors will decrease in 2025.

No Medical Evidence Required for SLTD: This year, you can apply for Supplemental Long-Term Disability (SLTD) or change your benefit waiting period for existing coverage without medical evidence.

Copays for Diabetic Products and Supplies: Members will pay the applicable brand copayment for higher-cost diabetic products and supplies, like continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps. No-Pay Copay participants will pay a reduced copay for these higher-cost products and supplies. Supplies and drugs to treat diabetes will not be eligible for the No-Pay Copay program for Savings Plan members.

New Tobacco Cessation Program: A new tobacco cessation program will be available to health plan members, offering participants an option of live interactive online sessions or a self-paced structure program.

Prepare for Enrollment

Elections and changes can be made between October 1 and October 31, 2024. An Open Enrollment 2024 webpage will launch next Tuesday with comprehensive information and resources about your options for insurance coverage.

Prior to open enrollment, eligible employees are encouraged to access PEBA’s MyBenefits portal to review their current insurance coverage. Employees may also access Employee Self-Service to review current payroll deduction amounts.
