Clemson University Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) has been named an Accredited Parking Organization (APO) by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI). Currently, Clemson is one of only 21 universities in the country to receive the honor and the first in South Carolina. The Clemson University PATS Team will receive recognition on June 10 at the Annual IPMI Conference being held in Louisville, Ky.
“Since arriving at Clemson in 2011, it has always been my goal to have Clemson University be known as having one of the premier parking and transportation services operations in the country,” said Dan Hofmann, director of Parking and Transportation Services. “The first step included assembling an extraordinarily qualified and passionate team of parking and transportation professionals, which included our top-tier managers, including myself, have attained the highest most sought-after credential in the industry—the designation of Parking, Transportation and Mobility Professional (PTMP) from IPMI. With our leadership’s ongoing support, and the dedication and passion of our entire team, who I consider the best of the best, I am honored and proud to have helped propel this team to the mountaintop. While this achievement elevates Clemson University and PATS, we are not standing still as the best is yet to come!”
APO is a designation for organizations that have achieved a comprehensive standard of excellence. Launched in 2015 by IPMI, the accreditation recognizes best practices in responsible parking management and operations, access management, customer service, professional development, security, sustainability and more. To become an APO, an organization must demonstrate its commitment to ongoing evaluation and improvement of program outcomes through the implementation of industry best practices.
