Clemson Undergraduate Student Government (CUSG) formally introduced newly elected leaders for the 2025-26 academic year during its annual banquet on Thursday, April 10 in the President and First Lady’s Suite in Memorial Stadium. Zach Freeman and Maya Khaskhely were sworn in as president and vice president, respectively, joining previously-elected Senate President Bryce Getsinger. Freeman and Khaskhely take the reins from outgoing leaders Kellan Fenegan and Dré Moxie.
Freeman is a management and marketing major from Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is a member of the Clemson University Honors College and recruitment ambassador for the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business. Beyond the classroom, he is the treasurer for Pi Kappa Alpha, vice president of finance for Order of Omega Honor Society and a recruitment captain for the Interfraternity Council. He also serves on the IPTAY Student Advisory Board.

“We’re excited to build off of Kellan and Dré’s term,” he says. “Our goals are to amplify student voices, continue to improve town and gown relations, and to enhance student experiences and accessibility. We are committed to advocating for every student on campus.”
Khaskhely is an environmental and natural resources major from Charleston, South Carolina. She served in Senate the past three years, chairing the Inclusion and Equity Committee. Khaskhely also served on CUSG’s Greek Affairs Committee. Outside of student government, she is a residential community mentor at McCabe Hall and a member of Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.
“We want to make sure we meet our students where they are,” she says. “We want to make sure CUSG is a resource available to all undergraduates and that Clemson University remains true to its purpose of serving the students.”

Getsinger is a computer science major in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences (CECAS) from Charleston, South Carolina. He has been a member of CUSG Senate the past two years, first serving a term on the Committee for Academic Affairs in 2023-24 before holding the position of clerk on the executive board in 2024-25. Beyond his involvement in student government, Getsinger has served as president of Clemson Esports, secretary for the Honors College Student Advisory Board, member of the CECAS Student Advisory Board and employee in Student Affairs Business Operations.
“Serving in the position of Senate president is an incredible honor and opportunity to serve Clemson in the way I know best,” he says. “My colleagues in Senate are the most passionate group of advocates I’ve known and have poured so much into me as a student, as a leader and as a person. I’m beyond excited to have the chance to return the favor, to build a new generation of passionate advocates who represent the interests of the student body on the highest level.”
