Vicki Weber is the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine’s Director of Teaching Operations and Ambulatory Services Manager. She previously worked at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She said she was drawn to the PCVM because of the opportunity to be a part of and build something bigger than herself and have a lasting impact on the veterinary profession.
“Even more specifically, the concept of the distributive model school and competency-based curriculum is exciting to me,” said Weber. “I see it as the best way to prepare veterinary students for the rigors of entering the professional veterinary workforce. In addition, the culture of belonging and sense of school, community and state pride that deeply resonated from within the college and surrounding community just made it feel like home, like this is where I needed to be.”
Weber attended the State University of New York College at Morrisville where she earned her associate’s degree in Equine Science and Management in 2003 and attended the State University of New York at Delhi where she earned her associate’s degree in veterinary science technology and LVT (Veterinary Technician License) in 2005. She brings to Clemson a lifetime love of companion animal, farm animal and equine veterinary medicine, along with a strong passion for teaching, mentoring and sharing over 20 years of diverse veterinary knowledge and experiences. In her current role, she’s excited to experience the growth of teaching operations and ambulatory services and make them transformative and dynamic pillars of the PCVM.
“I am looking forward to creating teams of LVT and Veterinary Assistant educators to assist in guiding our veterinary students through their education by imparting knowledge and experience as it applies to veterinary medicine, professionalism, and wellbeing. I am also looking forward to seeing and experiencing all the new growth of the College of Veterinary Medicine and the opportunities it will bring to the state of South Carolina! It is exciting to watch and be a part of all the developing and ongoing collaborations that transpire every day! “
Weber is honored, excited and proud to be part of the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine team at Clemson University to build skilled, practical and effective veterinary professionals.
“The most meaningful impact I could ever hope to make is to assist in creating the most highly competent and proficient teams of veterinary professionals. This includes not only DVMs in training, but credentialed DVMs, credentialed veterinary technicians and professional support staff.
