Darrin Callicoat serves as the Facilities Manager for the College of Veterinary Medicine. He is responsible for all facility operations, capital planning, business continuity, utility utilization, occupancies, and security. He also represents the CVM team as the primary liaison to Clemson’s facilities organization, construction teams, and project managers.
“I’m happy to be part of the CVM team and in a position where I can help build the campus from the ground up,” said Callicoat. “I was especially interested in being the facilities manager responsible for the only veterinarian college in the state of South Carolina.”
Callicoat has over 25 years of technical and leadership experience, along with a master’s degree in industrial systems engineering from Ohio University. While working for several fortune 500 companies, he led teams of engineers, architects, project managers, and large facility organizations. In his senior leadership roles, he provided direct support to finance & business operations, corporate safety & environmental teams, and launched business continuity initiatives.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the campus come to life and being part of ‘Day One’ when we open the doors for the first time, watching the reactions of the students and staff when they see what the CVM team has accomplished.”
He is thrilled for this opportunity and feels it is a true privilege to take on this critical role as facilities manager for the College of Veterinary Medicine. He is dedicated to the success of the CVM team and the well-being of the staff and students who call Clemson home.
“I’m also honored to be part of the Clemson organization. I had heard stories about the family atmosphere, but I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived on campus. I was pleasantly surprised after my first day with the CVM team to see they treated each other like family.”
