The June 30 performance evaluation deadline is approaching for staff members in select budget centers.

This year, all full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members with June 30 review deadlines will complete their annual performance evaluation, including all approvals, through OnBase-Performance.

Employees with June 30 review dates will also complete their planning stages in OnBase-Performance before moving to Workday later this year. Staff must complete planning stages in OnBase-Performance by August 15, at which point, the information will be moved into Workday.

While the University will transition to Workday in July, this slow transition of performance management will allow for a phased use of Workday, allowing employees to focus on learning the new system before completing the performance review and planning processes.

Guidance for completing evaluations

All employees are responsible for completing a self-evaluation and meeting with their supervisor to discuss their performance and evaluations. Supervisors are responsible for completing their employees’ reviews and facilitating this performance discussion. All supervisors will be evaluated on the timeliness of completing their staff member’s performance evaluation. Failure to provide a timely review should be taken into consideration when conducting the supervisor’s annual performance evaluation.

As supervisors complete their reviews, they must evaluate their employees fairly and consistently. The University’s five-category rating scale (PDF) dictates that a Successful rating is a positive evaluation. It reflects that an employee is meeting expectations as intended. Even employees with some exceptional areas of performance may still receive an overall Successful rating.

To aid in the timely completion of performance reviews, a suggested timeline for those with June 30 review dates is included below:

Complete self-evaluations: April 1 – May 8

Supervisors complete evaluations by: May 22

All signatures and final conversations complete by: June 30
