Honors College hosts Valentine’s Day event

Faculty-in-residence and the community council will host its third annual Honors Residential College Valentine’s Day lecture and dinner party on from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Great Hall at Core Campus.

The evening will be filled with live jazz music, fun and a lecture on love by Bruce King to put guests in the Valentine’s Day spirit.

William Lasser, executive director of Calhoun Honors College, believes the event embodies the Honors College ideal of “serious fun.”

“Our Valentine’s Day Lecture and Dinner Party combines a fun and festive event with the chance to build community and the opportunity to learn something new,” he said.

King, a psychologist and professor, will deliver this year’s Valentine’s Day lecture, “Sex Ed: Don’t I Already Know This Stuff?”

While King wants the students to leave the event more knowledgeable on the topic, he truly hopes students’ biggest takeaway is that they are more comfortable talking about sex.
