Jennifer Goree, director of Healthy Campus, is leading a four-week mindfulness workshop open to students, faculty and staff called Mindful Mondays.
Based on an evidence-based program from The Duke Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults (MIEA), this series is specifically designed to teach mindfulness and meditation as a way to manage stress and reduce anxiety. Participants will learn specific skills that help calm and focus the mind, including breathing exercises, guided imagery, body scan and more.
Classes will take place from noon-1 p.m. on March 31, April 7, 14 and 21 over Zoom. Register to take part in the series.
Note: There is a one-time fee of $3.99 for the MIEA app. The app is essential to the course, allowing participants to develop mindfulness practice and connect with the teacher.
