The deadline to nominate a faculty member for the Class of ’39 Award for Excellence is fast approaching. Nominations are due to the provost no later than noon on October 18, 2022. Find out more on this website.

The award is one of the most coveted honors a Clemson faculty member can receive. Faculty peers choose recipients who represent the “highest achievement of service to the University, student body and the larger community, whether it be town, state or nation.”

Recipients become honorary members of the class and are provided a monetary award equal to the value of $5,000 in 1989 dollars, which equals approximately $10,000 today. Recipients are recognized at one of the December graduation ceremonies and in a January ceremony at the ’39 Bell Tower in the Carillon Gardens.
