Clemson University will highlight sustainability this Saturday with the GameDay Basketball Zero Waste Challenge at the 6:30 p.m. men’s basketball game against Duke.

The challenge, part of the Campus Race to Zero Waste program, encourages campuses across the country to reduce and eliminate waste at home basketball games. Clemson is partnering with Coca-Cola Consolidated for the event.

Fans are encouraged to dispose of waste in appropriate recycling receptacles around Littlejohn Coliseum. Once collected, these materials will be sent to a recycling center to create new bottles and then sent back to the Coca-Cola system to support a circular economy.

Clemson has won four Campus Race to Zero Waste championships for recycling efforts during football season, as well as a Carolina Recycling Association award last May.
