Over the past week, our campus, like many campuses across the nation, and the nation as a whole, has carried the weight of tragedy, the pain of various actions and the frustration over comments and statements that do not align with our values, morals and ethics.
Our University values call on us to act with integrity, show respect to everyone, exercise self-discipline and to always do the right thing – even when it is difficult. It is up to us to demonstrate these values at all times.
I want to encourage each of you to look out for one another, check in on one another and lean on the resources available to you. Students, you can access additional resources here. Employees, you can find additional resources here. The safety, health and well-being of our community is essential to meeting our mission of education, research and service, so please take care of yourself and your fellow Tigers.
Whether you are a student, a faculty or staff member, an alumnus or a dear friend, you are part of the Clemson Family. At Clemson, there are 29,431 students, 15,934 employees and 195,255 living alumni – and each of you, through your words and actions, is a reflection of Clemson University, the Clemson Family and the greater world.
Clemson is special because of our people. You are passionate. You are committed. You are dedicated to this University. And you are dedicated to making the world a better place. Let’s lead and act with integrity, compassion and respect – and show everyone what it means to be a Clemson Tiger.
