A continued commitment to safeguarding our University: Annual Required Training to launch next week

Share:

Dear faculty and staff,

It has been seven years since we first launched our Universitywide annual required training initiative. This expansive program focuses on safeguarding our University community and has evolved throughout the years, as new challenges and opportunities have arisen.

For example, while cyber threats look different than they did when the program was developed in 2018, they continue to pose an ever-present risk to our institution. The weakest link in any cybersecurity effort is always the human element – so prioritizing information security training is essential to protect our academic institution with the added protection of a robust cybersecurity team that blocks threats every day.

This year’s annual required training will once again focus on three essential areas for our University:

  • Conflict of Interest (COI), including the COI disclosure if applicable
  • Information Security Awareness (ISA)
  • Building Supportive Communities: Clery Act and Title IX

These trainings affirm our commitment to upholding safe and responsible practices and protecting our University.

The 2024 annual required training modules will be launched through Tiger Training on September 10, 2024, with a due date of October 29, 2024.

Highlights for 2024 Training

The COI and ISA modules will again feature shorter versions for those who previously completed training in the years prior. Both modules will present you with a knowledge check. If you pass the knowledge check, you will not need to complete the remaining course content.

This year’s Title IX training will be a two-part program. First, learners must complete a short module with new information relative to Clemson’s Title IX process and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Following that course, faculty and staff will begin the standard Title IX training course, which will begin with a knowledge check of core content. Learners who successfully pass this course do not need to complete the remaining course content.

Complete your Required Training Starting September 10

You will receive an automated email from Tiger Training when you are enrolled in the three modules.

Log into Tiger Training to complete the modules. The system will send email reminders until you have completed your training.

Please direct questions related to each training topic to:

If you have questions regarding the Tiger Training System, please email tigertraining@clemson.edu.

Faculty and staff should use Google Chrome or Firefox to complete the trainings to avoid any potential disruptions.

Faculty and staff must complete all three training modules by October 29, 2024. Failure to complete the training modules by the deadline will result in denied access to your Clemson University accounts.

Denying someone computing access is a final, albeit necessary step to ensure everyone completes the training. Rest assured you will receive courtesy reminders before the deadline. In the unlikely event you miss the deadline and are denied computing access, contact the CCIT Service Desk for details on how to complete your training and restore your access.

Thank you for all you do for Clemson and your continued support of this important training requirement.

Sincerely,
