Dear Clemson Family,
The Fall semester is coming to a close, and with it, another amazing year. Our students have started their final exams, faculty and staff are winding down the semester, and hundreds of our Tigers are looking forward to crossing the stage at Commencement next week – where they will receive their diplomas and become a part of the close to 190,000 living Alumni across the world.
Over the past few weeks, we have celebrated significant gifts, including a $25 million gift from the Snow Family to establish the Snow Institute for the Study of Capitalism, a $12.5 million gift from the Nieri Family to name the Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center, and we welcomed our newest Academic Cornerstone Partners, Mary and Barry Mack, whose gift will support our students and the Clemson Experience. Each of these incredible gifts will continue to elevate Clemson even further and will have a positive impact on the lives of Tigers for generations to come.
We held a historic groundbreaking ceremony for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine, which will serve as the state of South Carolina’s College of Veterinary Medicine and will meet a huge need in our state, the region and beyond. The Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine has become a reality because of the tremendous support of the entire General Assembly – including champion Senator Harvey Peeler – our Board of Trustees, and our many partners across South Carolina. We plan to welcome our first cohort in 2026 and then graduate the first Doctors of Veterinary Medicine in South Carolina in 2030.
This past Saturday, the Clemson Family showed up in a big way at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, as we took on SMU for the ACC Championship. Even with the temperature dipping into the 20s, Tiger fans were locked in from the first kick to the last second, helping cheer our Tigers on to a huge win. As the 2024 ACC Champions, our football team now holds an impressive record of being ACC Champions 8 out of the past 10 years and will continue their season as we begin the College Football Playoffs. Our men’s and women’s basketball teams are also having great starts to their seasons, and I know that everyone is looking forward to seeing our gymnastics team back in action at the start of the new year.
There are so many wonderful things happening at Clemson, and I know that the best is yet to come. As we head into the holiday season and winter break, I hope you take time to rest, recharge and enjoy time with your family and friends. I can’t wait to see you back on our campuses in the New Year. Thank you for all you do for our great University and Go Tigers!
