Updates made to various Office of Human Resources policies

Our Clemson

The Office of Human Resources (OHR) has recently updated policies regarding leave and remote work. An overview of the changes and links to the updated policies is available below. 

Decommissioning of the Grant Personal Leave Policy 

Next week, Clemson University will transition temporary grant employees (TGPs) from the use of Grant Personal Leave to the accrual and use of annual leave and sick leave, like full-time equivalent (FTE) and temporary time-limited (TLP) employees. This change will align leave types for all eligible Clemson employees, allowing for easier transitions if employees transfer between positions. With this change, the University will decommission the Grant Personal Leave policy. 

Impacted employees have received direct communication from the Office of Human Resources.

Annual Leave Policy 

The Annual Leave policy has been updated to extend eligibility to temporary grant positions (TGPs), concurrent with the decommissioning of the Grant Personal Leave policy.  

Sick Leave Policy 

The Sick Leave policy has been updated to extend eligibility to temporary grant positions (TGPs), concurrent with the decommissioning of the Grant Personal Leave policy.  

Remote Work Policy 

The state has approved Clemson University’s updated Remote Work Policy, which now aligns with the state telecommuting policy. Additional details regarding Remote Work at Clemson are available on the Remote Work webpage
