Updated summer guidelines on face coverings, testing

Share:

Clemson University announced today updated guidelines for Summer 2021 for face coverings and testing requirements as University officials continue to monitor prevalence rates in the area surrounding main campus and throughout the state.

These guidelines are based on currently available data and on the recommendations of public health experts and are subject to evolve as conditions continue to change. Updated information and requirements for the Fall semester will be provided later this summer.

Face coverings

Effective immediately, face coverings are not required in University facilities – but remain strongly encouraged in instructional areas (classrooms, instructional labs) and research labs.

Face coverings remain required in medical facilities (Redfern Health Center, Sullivan Center, etc.) and on public transportation (CATBus, TigerTransit).

Testing

Testing for those who have not been fully vaccinated moves from every 7 days to every 30 days.

Testing for fully vaccinated individuals is voluntary but encouraged as the University’s public health officials continue their efforts to monitor the prevalence of the virus in the community.

Vaccines

Vaccination is not required. The University continues to encourage vaccination against COVID-19 for those who are able.
