FLORENCE, S.C. – Emerging pests, root diseases, fungicides and weed control are just a few of the topics that will be covered during the Clemson University Pee Dee Research and Education Center (REC) Field Day on April 15.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Pee Dee REC Pavilion, 2200 Pocket Road, Darlington, South Carolina 29532. This event is free, but registration is requested.

The field day begins with participants taking a walking tour of turfgrass experiments at 8:30 a.m. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Trial areas will be grouped according to station number, with smaller sub-stations covered within each grouping.

Presenters include Zee Ahmed, entomology; Joseph Roberts, turfgrass pathology and nematology; Matthew Cutulle, weed science; and Jason Todd, turfgrass pathology.

The event is expected to end at 11:30 a.m.

Three pesticide credits for South Carolina Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Category 3 – Turf and Ornamental will be offered.
