Lynn Howard of Florence County and Kesha Horton of Chester and Lancaster counties were honored last month during 4-H State Congress with the 2020 Glen Krohn Award for Volunteerism in 4-H, which recognizes outstanding volunteer leadership in 4-H and bears the name of the former assistant director who was well known as a strong believer in volunteers throughout his career.

A COVID-19 website has been established for Extension programming and fact sheets related to the novel coronavirus, along with resources aimed at helping South Carolinians and the state’s agribusinesses cope with the crisis.

The ‘scientist who killed Pluto’ is coming to Clemson

August 24, 2006, was a day of infamy for those who grew up having learned that a far-out icy body in the solar system – Pluto – was the ninth and final planet in our solar system. It was on this day that the International Astronomical Union (IAU) voted to demote Pluto from “planet” to “dwarf planet,” and the scientist who incited that change is coming to Clemson to speak about it.
