Call for nominations: the Class of ’39 Award

The Faculty Senate is seeking nominations for the Class of ’39 Award for Excellence.

Endowed by the Class of 1939 in 1989, its 50th anniversary, the award is presented annually to honor a distinguished member of Clemson faculty for outstanding contributions representing “the highest achievement of service to the University, student body, and the larger community, whether it be town, state or nation.”

To be eligible, a faculty member must meet the following:

  • Have at least five years of Clemson University faculty service.
  • Have been granted tenure at Clemson.
  • Have performed in an outstanding manner in at least two of these areas: assigned responsibility; interrelations with the student body; activities on behalf of the University; or activities benefitting the local community, state or nation.

Submission deadlines are due to the Provost no later than October 20 by noon.
