Clemson University’s Board of Trustees has approved a new, seven-year contract with Aramark as the University’s dining provider.
The new contract includes substantial programmatic and financial benefits while providing flexibility in areas of both vending and catering.
“Clemson continues to serve its students and the state of South Carolina by providing value, mindful of the total investment students and parents make toward higher education,” said Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations Tony Wagner. “The total cost includes room and board expenses to attend Clemson. We conducted a thorough, competitive process using the state guidelines, key stakeholders and an independent consultant who determined the contract to be a ‘very good financial package.’ We’re happy to know students will benefit for years to come.
Clemson University’s dining services includes 16 eateries, 3 dining halls and 8 convenience stores, serving more than 2 million meals to students, faculty and staff annually. Aramark has continued to be a key Clemson partner in responding to the pandemic, assisting with planning for the coming academic year.

Aramark has been Clemson’s dining services provider since 1969, and the new 7-year contract will follow the current 15-year contract. Clemson will continue to run and maintain facilities while Aramark will pay for non-facility costs.
