Each workshop series will be five weeks in length, for 90 minutes each session. Classes are offered on Tuesday (3-4:30 p.m.) and Friday (10-11:30 a.m.) each week.

The first series — scheduled to start the week of May 23 — will focus on interpersonal relationships:

• Weeks 1-2 – Mindfulness: stress reduction skills that can be used at any time or place
• Weeks 3-5 – Interpersonal Effectiveness: Refresher on relating to others to provide confidence in navigating back to an interpersonal world after a time of isolation and distant relationships

The second series — scheduled to start the week of July 11 — will focus on dealing with difficult emotions:

• Weeks 1-3 – Emotional Regulation: Managing emotions and learning skills to help participants be the best versions of themselves in the face of difficult situations
• Weeks 4-5 – Distress Tolerance: Equipping participants with tools to increase the ability to tolerate distress and help live with grace

This is the third consecutive summer CAPS has offered courses based in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to faculty and staff.

Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and participants are able to sign up for either or both workshop series. To sign up, please contact Dr. Andie Eaton at apeaton@clemson.edu.
