Clemson welcomed 2,500 admitted students and their families on Saturday, March 29, for Tigertown Takeover – an exciting event designed exclusively for incoming future Tigers to get a glimpse of life in Tigertown.
Opening session, a welcome to future Tigers
The day began with an energetic opening session in Littlejohn Coliseum, where all guests gathered to experience the Clemson Spirit. President Jim Clements welcomed students noting the outstanding accomplishments and achievements of this admitted class. The Clemson University Tiger Band, undergraduate student president and vice president, faculty members, the Division of Enrollment Management, DJ Sha and so many more created a vibrant environment showcasing what it means to belong to the Clemson Family.

Students created their own Clemson adventure for the day
Following the opening sessions, guests dispersed across campus for a day full of customized experiences. Each student had the opportunity to create their own unique schedule and attend breakout sessions, panels and tours of interest to them. In collaboration with valued partners across campus, students were offered over 40 different sessions to connect with their academic unit, explore student life and learn more about experiential learning, Clemson Home, Athletics, and other programs that make the Clemson Experience one of a kind.

A large-scale success with big hopes for the future
Following the event, David Kuskowski, associate vice president for Enrollment Management, shared his thoughts on the day. “It was a privilege to offer an event of such success to a bright and talented admitted class,” he said. “We look forward to welcoming many of these students into our community and can’t wait to see the contributions they will make to South Carolina and beyond with a Clemson degree.”
This is the first time that Clemson University has hosted an event for admitted students of this magnitude. Students and families traveled all across the country to takeover Tigertown and learn more about what a future at Clemson could look like for them, and many decided to “Say Yes to Clemson” after getting a small taste of the Clemson Experience.
